The Martha Society of Palm Valley Lutheran Church met in the social hall with seven hostesses in charge of the social hour. President Mrs Emil Anderson led the business session and devotional was given by Mrs Milford Anderson. A round table discussion on Take Another Look at the Map followed. A get well card was signed for Pastor O M Bloom.

New officers include Mrs. Joe Crow as vice president and Mrs. Walter C. Moore Jr. as secretary treasurer. Co-hostess was Mrs. Moore and luncheon followed for members E. C. Baum Crow L. W. Mrs. H. R. Floeckinger chair of the Williamson County Red Cross camp and hospital asks Taylor residents to donate to Hood Station Hospital. Needed items include magazines under two months old, comics, playing cards, used records and plastic toys for the children's department. drop off at the Taylor Press office by Saturday.

Mr and Mrs Travis Raven and their son Ronnie of Yoakum are spending the summer in Austin with Mrs Bergstrom at 2409 Sabine. Mr Raven is pursuing a master’s degree in physical education at the University of Texas.

Pupils of Janet Collett perform a spring recital Saturday at 8 p.m. in Austin High School auditorium. The program features Sleeping Beauty with 18 dancers in peach and aqua, dances to Schubert Grieg Beethoven Haydn Shostakovich, and sections in green and white peasant dresses, Mexican and modern Russian pieces with multiple named performers.
Tongue and Thimble Group and University Ladies Newcomers Club meet with Mrs Norris G Davis at 5225 Dallas Highway at 2 30 pm. Austin Woman Club holds board meeting at 11 am and luncheon at 12 30 pm. Non Commissioned Officers Wives Club gathers at the club at 1 30 pm. Co Wed Club plays bridge in Room 315 Texas Union Building from 7 to 10 pm.
Miss Patricia LaVerne Lindgren valedictorian of Manor High School 1949 graduates will enroll at Nixon-Clay Business College Austin June 20. Daughter of Mrs. Lindgren Route Two Manor and the late Mr. Lindgren she was editor of The Mustang and placed second in declamation in the Interscholastic League while also acting in the school play.
