The Iris Group of the Violet Crown Garden Club meets with Mrs. H. M. Burlage at 702 East 43rd on April 12 at 10 30 a m. A covered dish luncheon is planned. The date was moved from April 6 to 12 due to the flower show.
Gamma Tau chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha honored new sponsor Mrs Eric Darnall at an informal reception in the Driskill Hotel Colonial Room. She received a jeweled pin, gift of the sorority. Ruby Tarter was named most valuable member for the year. A spring fashion style show featured items from Snyders Pearl Cummins Leons and a UT instructor served as commentator.
Mrs Fairey was elected delegate to the home demonstration convention in Temple April 17-18. The session featured demonstrations on crochet rug making by Mrs Frank Maxwell and poetry read by Mrs G Humble.
Pauline Shadler a national YWCA staff member was honored at a Thursday luncheon at the YWCA. Mrs. G E Bray president of the board led the briefing after the meal. Edna T Anderson presented a national YWCA film showing activities for youth. Shadler spoke at the Branch YWCA fifth anniversary meeting.
Adoption of a new constitution and a complete slate of officers are planned by the Bergstrom Air Force Base Woman's Club. All wives of Air Force officers are invited to attend Tuesday at 1 30 p m at the Officers' Club. A style show by the club for officers and wives is set for Thursday at 8 30 a m at the Officers' Club featuring clothes from Alex Ferris.
Dean of Student Life Arno Nowotny will address University Housemothers for Men in Sutton Hall 101 Tuesday at 8 p m. The topic is University Intangibles and new officers will be elected.
Mr and Mrs Armin Henneberger of Dallas announce the betrothal of their daughter Martha Ann Henneberger to Russell Daniel Henke son of Mr and Mrs D W Henke of Dallas The couple plan a wedding on April 23 at an SMU venue with E Goodrich Jr officiating The Austin tea marked the engagement with family and house party members present and a full list of attendants and attendants including matron Eva Henke and maid of honor Kay Henneberger.
The University Ladies Intermediate Club schedules four sessions this week. Mrs. George Schulz-Behrend hosts at 2824 Pearl 7:45 p m with co host Mrs H C Blodgett. Bridge group meets Thursday at 2 pm at 201 West 31st with co host Mrs A L LaGrone. Friday morning bridge hosts Mrs J J Villarreal at 2814 Pearl 9:30 am. Adventures in Eating Friday 10 am at 801 Park Avenue features a Greek foods program. no luncheon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cullen celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a dinner in the Empire room of the Rice Hotel. A Johns Orchestra dedicated The Anniversary Waltz to the couple. Mr. Cullen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cullen.
Kerrville hosts the formation of a new Comfort square dance club as about seventy five people attend the initial gathering. Other active clubs are noted in Junction Fredericksburg Medina Bandera and Kerrville.
The executive committee of the John B. Winn PTA will meet at the school Wednesday at 2 p m. All officers are urged to attend this important session.
Edith Anderson will discuss Basic Meal planning at a Friday morning talk sponsored by the Robert E. Lee P-TA home and life program. The 9 30 a m lecture at Mrs L Joe Berry 3102 Tom Green continues a series on food and nutrition.
Mrs Byron B Boatright of 2107 Woodmont entertained Monday afternoon with tea for her houseguests. Honorees included Mesdames J F O Bryne Maud Gates George Parfet Gladys Kaufman all of Golden Colorado and Mrs Arthur Meren of Dallas. A former Houston resident, she recently moved here from Dallas.
