Mrs W M Booth hosts a bridal shower for Mr and Mrs Larry Kolpin at the John Booth home Friday evening. Games included five hundred played at ten tables with prizes awarded.
A series of social events centered on a wedding included prize games at a party for Larry and Betty with gifts presented by John Booth and others. Cupid wagon entries, a blue pink white lunch, and a two course meal followed as guests admired a large decorated cake and flowers.
Miss Lorine Radke was honored at a Sunday shower at the Hanover school basement. Hostesses included Mrs. Arthur Harry and others. The event featured bingo, games, gifts, green and yellow decor, a two course lunch, and umbrella favors.
Ren spent Monday evening at the Harry Lietz home as their husbands attended a men’s club gathering in Cherokee.
Mrs. George Smith hosted Pal Club with high score by Bunadyn Campbell in 500. Several gatherings followed by Vera Stienke, A. C. C. and Cheerio clubs. Marlyce Bengtson wed W. E. Bergstrom. Opal Cave injures leg in Cherokee. Market commentary urges watching cattle grades as prices vary and trends may shift.
Extension expert Rex Beresford of Iowa State College urges vigilant marketing to secure good fed cattle prices this season. He notes total beef supply in 1950 may not differ much from feeder purchases last fall, though distribution will shift.
