Hanover residents share multiple events from January to February including a Trustee Going Out Party with prize winners Rev Holstein Caroline Friedrich and Mrs Albert Hinkeldey, numerous dinners and games, a dart ball gathering, a bridal shower for Lorene Radke, and a 25th wedding anniversary for Rhinehardt Grieme family with a home talent program. Attendees span Rockwell City Storm Lake Aurelia Concorida Seminary Alta and nearby communities.
Mrs John Baldwin and extended families from Paullina and Moline visited the Holtz home in Selva. Kenneth Lewis and family arrived from Moline for a Sunday stay, returning Monday. Miss Marius Miller of Des Moines spent the weekend with Walter Miller’s family.
The Aurelia high school girls basketball team lost 42 to 34 to Akron in the sectional tourney opener at Remsen Tuesday night. Akron led from the start, 16 to 7 after the first quarter and held the advantage throughout. Aurelia’s Sherkenbak scored 17 points in a valiant but failing effort.
First Congregational Church led by Pastor J E Gebhardt announces Youth Week with the I P F taking charge of the morning worship and joining the Methodist Young People for a united service at 7 p m at the Methodist church. Be there to show support.
Trinity Lutheran Church Alta Iowa invites participation in a daily 9 to 9 15 a m meditation program titled Beneath the Cross broadcast on station KAYL Storm Lake. The notice lists church activities including confirmation class, junior choir, Sunday school and morning worship with the theme Receiving Christ.
