Ray Murray secretary of agriculture orders all cattle tuberculin testing stopped from February 1 until further notice. The halt follows misunderstandings and opposition to enforcement. testing will resume under legislative guidance. Sac County is recommended for accreditation on February 1, bringing total to 75 counties accredited.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Ray Murray reports oleomargarine tax receipts fell from 160724.55 dollars in 1931 to 30499.10 dollars in 1932 with pounds sold dropping, while butter sales rose as prices favored dairy farmers. Reports from creameries suggest butter consumption remained higher than before, indicating tax protection to the dairy industry.
An instrument purporting to be the last will of William Diercks, dated January 15 1924, was filed and opened on February 23 1933. A hearing to prove and probate the will is set at the Cherokee County Court House before the District Court or Clerk, with interested parties required to appear and show cause if any.
