An old advertisement notes items available at the Upper Store next to the Herald Printing Office and opposite the Augusta Bank. The date reads September 6 with a series note.
On the site once occupied by Mrs Benjamin Sims a range of stores is being developed. One is already engaged while the others will be ready for tenant reception in October. Terms may be obtained by contacting August 23.
Law notice states Samuel W. Metcs engaged lawyer John Horsyth to pursue professional profits. The subscriber will be available at the office at all hours when not on circuit, with February 9 noted.
The War Department announces open proposals for supplying U S troops from June 1812 to June 1813 across Michigan Ohio Illinois and other territories including Niagara Detroit Chicago Fort Wayne Belle Vue Belle Fontaine Osage and Springfield Massachusetts. Ration mix includes beef or pork flour rum salt vinegar soap and candy with prices to be set per part. Proposals must ensure six months of provisions at key posts and three months at western ports, with contractor承担 costs for losses and delivery, and advance supplies allowed at selected posts.
Lately arrived physician Doctor Lhomme informs friends and the public that he has established himself locally to practice medicine and surgery. He studied at the College of Medicine in Paris and has seven years of experience in the West Indies. Doctor J Shomme will attend patients at Mr. B Bicnow's house. August 23.
Wm. P. Fernanda expresses heartfelt thanks to the public for spa support during his business at this place. He announces dissolution of his partnership with Mr. Tuttle and states he has formed new arrangements with Mr. G. HINTON to run the Tayloring business under a new firm.
An ad notes that Hinton and Fernanda will operate from the stand formerly used by Mr Hinton. It promises neat work, elegance, promptitude and dispatch, aiming to attract a generous public patronage starting August 30.
