Liverpool notes France hinted Berlin and Milan decrees repealed for America, President acted early. Lansdowne asks if British merchant ships and warships in US ports are required conditions. Liverpool says America must repeal all regulations from orders in council. Couriers remark questions post April government pledge.

From the Aurora letter to the editor dated July 2 1812 General Hull received word that Fort Michilimachao surrendered to 100 Indians and 00 British with three cannon gaining a height at a pass commanding the harbor. The fort’s commander did not know of war and did not expect an attack. The British force in Malden counts about 398 with detachments often sent for foraging and reconnoitering. Skirmishes occurred with enemy losses and three prisoners were taken.
