The subscriber states Mr Samuel W Metres has interested in his professional profits and will be found at the office at all hours when not on circuit. John Horry UM February 9.
Governor Mitchell issues a proclamation in Milledgeville offering a one hundred dollar reward for the capture of William Burch, alleged to have killed Stephen Tilly in Darien, McIntosh County. The order calls all state officers to aid in his apprehension and trial, with publication requested in multiple papers.
Abraham Faucett offers a 20 dollar reward for Cesar and Rawly two enslaved men who ran away Tuesday night from Rocky Creek near the Oconee in Laurens County. Cesar is about 27, yellow and chunky. Rawly is about 27, very black and slender. They are known around Augusta and may have ties to Judge Walton’s former property. Rewards payable to deliver them or to Captain Patterson near General Twiggs.
On the last Saturday in February at the Augusta Market-House a house and lot on Broad Street will be sold for 1809 taxes nine dollars fourteen cents. Also 202.5 acres in Baldwin District No. 252 sold for two dollars five cents. An improved Savannah city lot taxed at seven dollars eighty one and fourteen cents. 213 acres in Effingham County taxed at three dollars and three cents. Three acres in Richmond County Mount Eva described with improvements taxed at one dollar and thirty cents.
In Richmond County Georgia on September 3 1810 Lewis McCoy petitions for titles to land in Augusta adjoining George Conn and Ananias Cooper. The court orders three months notice in a public gazette for interested parties to show cause why titles should not be granted by administrator under the act for insolvent cases. Eliza A Lamar proclaims sole possession of all estate assets after debts, warning against interference and promising prosecution. She names Major Isaac Robinson as executor and authorized agents Charles Goodwin of Town Creek Mills and Solomon Ward. January 12, 181%.
The subscriber advertises a valuable body of first quality low grounds along the Ocmulgee River, partly cleared and farmed for two years, offered in exchange for Negroes. An eligible upland area nearby could also be available. Wm. Robertson Twiggs County January 5.
J R Fairlamb has moved his bindery to the Chronicle Office and offers binding services in every branch. Merchants obtain ledgers ruled and bound to any pattern. February 9.
An old notice announces morning classes starting at g o'clock at the house near the Market with tuition from g to 12 A M and 2 to 5 P M Night school begins at candle light or ten o'clock.
