Bryan speech at Red Oak stopped
A Red Oak audience did not hear William J. Bryan last night though advertised. The Montgomery county Democrats balked at hearing him speak in the Ninth district, citing his stance on liquor and inconsistencies with his state party. No meeting occurred. Indictments were handed down to Troy Porter for obtaining money under false pretenses, Henry Christensen for giving liquor that led to a suicide, and L F Conrad for sheep theft. Bond amounts ranged from 300 to 500 dollars as cases proceed. Also an ad urges Doan’s Kidney Pills, with testimonial praise from Atlantic residents and the Moore Drug Co supplier in Buffalo.
