Injunction Case Fights Atlantic Railway Tax

Attorney W A Follett filed an answer in district court for the Atlantic Northern and Southern Railway in an injunction contest of the Atlantic tax. The railroad argues applicants slept on rights for over a year while it built the line expending 2000000 and more, claiming the tax was lawfully voted and carried 1961 to 460 in Atlantic and townships, and that proponents delayed the filing to seek an injunction. The railroad asks the court to deny halting tax collection as voters approved the levy and funds were spent in reliance on it.
