Tuesday news notes the death of Mrs Amy Upham Wood widow of John H Wood at West Springfield Massachusetts. Her son Ben A Wood of Atlantic was advised by telegram. Funeral at Congregational church Friday afternoon under Rev Spellman with hour and further arrangements to be announced. Born April 26 1836 in Youngstown Ohio she lived much of her life in Atlantic with homes in Jacksonville Illinois and West Springfield Massachusetts. Survived by two younger brothers and three children Ben A Wood of Atlantic Nell Smith of Hilo Hawaii and Amy Bagg of West Springfield. The cause of death remains uncertain with several physicians giving differing opinions from paralysis to possible poisoning. She traveled extensively and was active in local clubs and churches.
