Train Makes Good Run From Atlantic to Willisea
The Atlantic Northern and Southern ran the first on the new road to Willisea. The two and a half hour trip averaged 13 miles per hour with long stops. The train arrived Willisea at about 12:35 p m and was met by city officials and citizens. A return trip to Atlantic was planned with a supper at the Pullman hotel.

Thirteen Killed by Explosion at Morewood Ice Plant
Thirteen workmen died when a boiler exploded at the Morewood Ice Company's plant in Pittsfield Massachusetts. The blast hurled a body 150 feet and left many others injured as rescue crews moved through the mangled scene. About fifty workers were reported hurt.

Gun Club Shoot Closes Season With Nine Meets
The Atlantic Gun Club held its final shoot of the year last Friday after nine events. P. J. Appleman captured the Crowley EB. Cole Co. Trophy with four wins, and a Nanter Arms Co. vase went to him with three wins. Dr. Gamble Arthur Jensen and Loyd Neff each had two wins on the club silver cup. a tie will be shot off soon. Arthur Jensen also won the Dupont trophy with three wins.

Cecil Lockhart in the county jail at Oskaloosa has confessed to the attempted murder of Miss Clark McIntyre at New Sharon last evening. He says the shooting followed a lovers quarrel after Miss McIntyre, at the Home of Mrs. William Young, was seated at a table. Citizens chased Lockhart and he was taken to jail for safekeeping. Miss McIntyre had lately refused his attentions.
