Grand Master Thomas H Jeffries leads Georgia Masons in Macon for the 123rd annual grand lodge session. Plans for a new temple at Mulberry and New streets are announced with the old building to be sold. Opening work set for tomorrow at 10 o clock in the Masonic temple, with many prominent Masons expected.
Hartwell Ga October 25 Special Hartwell has the services of Judge J Cullen Wright one of the youngest Judicial officers of the state being only 21 years of age Judge Wright named as successor of late Judge H Goss in Hartwell Georgia with appointment reported by local officials.
The last Hart county grand jury elects Judge Wright to preside as notary public and ex officio justice of the peace for the 1112th district, praising his high qualifications and rapid progress. In Huntsville Alabama the cotton market shows 14 cents a pound on October 25, the first such rate this season since the Civil War era.
Captain George F. Deadwyler state prison inspector died at his daughter’s home in Athens at 8 this morning from heart failure. Federal officers say arrests in El Paso on Friday and Saturday of two Negroes and two Chinese men led to seizure of a quantity of opium and the breakdown of a smuggling ring active in the territory.
