Albany Mayor Tarver Sees 50 Cars For Albany Atl anta Contest

Mayor Henry A Tarver of Albany, chairing the starting committee, says fifty cars will start from Albany November 9 toward Atlanta for The Constitution good roads endurance contest. He expects thirty Albany cars and many more from surrounding towns, with daily committee meetings until the start.

Scarlet Fever Victim Left Alone As Neighbors Call Police

A six year old girl, daughter of Mrs Addy J Barry on 1st Hill Street, was found alone in a large house with scarlet fever. Neighbors alerted police who placed the child with an old man who agreed to care for her until the mother returned. The incident followed the child's brief time under the care of her brother Tack after the mother left. Meanwhile, railroad officials report plans to double route traffic and invest six million dollars in improvements between Guthrie and Henderson.

Rough Rider drill highlights second night of horse show

He was lifted from the field and carried off after a wild throw and a dramatic slide at third. Five Ribbons Won At Atlanta Horse Show

Alfred Vanderbilt led a record haul with five ribbons from five entries in two rings at the Atlanta Horse Show held in the Auditorium Armory last night. McAltara won the Capital City Club cup driven by John K Ottley, while Lady Pierce and Dr Whiton took a blue ribbon for Austell Thornton. Matt Cohen earned two blue ribbons for Mrs Richard Tasker Lowndes, plus Edna May repeated in open five gaited and Princess Patricia won the opening class. The Eleventh cavalry impressed in the Pola Pony class and His Majestys Horse was formally presented. The event closed amid festive display as the third annual Atlanta Home Show exhibition continues with more shows planned.
