Presbyterians Debate Bible as Literal Word of God in Georgia Synod
At Griffin Georgia the Georgia Synod opened with ministers and deacons in attendance. Moderators, clerks and reading clerks were elected as discussions focused on the Bible as the literal word of God, opposing newfangled theories. A large morning worship preceded talks on the new Presbyterian hospital for Atlanta and the Bible committee. A missionary rally followed, with leaders from foreign and home missions addressing the gathering. The synod planned to sit through Sunday.
