Hussars 10 Have the Market Site in Macon
The Macon market may become the home of the Macon Hussars as plans progress to repurpose the market into an armory. Alderman Williams proposes opening the market to all garden and truck producers, ending market hours and allowing street sales at all times, risking the market’s demise. Officials weigh making the market the Hussars’ base, which could cluster military units and require bond repayment, with surrounding changes including removal of long sheds and park development along Poplar Street. Funeral of W H Cornell noted with Masonic honors in Macon.
