The Continental hotel 417 feet long with 200 rooms and private baths will open by end of June under J W Merrill, with bulkheaded ocean front, villas rising, and a shell-covered speedway for autos. An artesian well and electric lights will serve hotel and cottages, making Atlantic Beach a modern town just thirty minutes from Jacksonville and a premier summer retreat for high society.
