The Buffalo temple leads a joyous Shriners invasion into Atlanta with 16 000 nobles arriving Sunday and more expected today. Crowds greet the marchers as bands play Dixie and cars supply needed transport amid a festive welcome across principal streets.
Generally fair conditions across North Carolina South Carolina Virginia Florida Alabama Mississippi Louisiana with variable to moderate southwest winds. Tennessee and Kentucky expect fair Monday then unsettled Tuesday with possible local rains and cooler temperatures.
Sunday in Atlanta saw four separate accidents resulting in two fatalities and two severe injuries. Elevator operator Shorty Dorsey died after falling from the eighth floor of the Austell Building elevator shaft. B Weeks, 38, died after a fall from the Masonic temple roof while decorating. Charlie Willis, 19, and Charlie Nash, tied to motorcycle crashes, survived with serious injuries.
