Georgia Farmers Face Delayed Planting And Higher Prices
The Georgia agricultural outlook shows shorter crops and higher prices as planting is delayed. Weather conditions and late fertilizer shipments delay land preparation and spring plowing, with corn and cotton planting pushed back by three to four weeks. Fertilizer supply and rail transport bottlenecks add to the delay, while abundant fruit is expected due to a milder late winter and recent rains.
