Two incumbents fail to get reelected in caucus

The city council caucus chose new officials for terms expiring July 1. Incumbents Pittman and Dr. Robert were unseated by Edward R. Hayes and Dr. B Harwell respectively. Ward physicians were chosen by unanimous vote, with other offices filled by close ballot but ultimately approved. Twenty three of twenty four council members attended.

Harriman Arrested For Following Race

EW London Conn June 27 The Yate Harvard boat race today saw E H Harriman railroad magnate briefly detained by Lt Com Bulmer in charge of revenue cutters. Harriman ignored warnings to leave the course aboard a fast motor boat, was ordered to surrender aboard the Gresham, and released after the race with his boat tied at the navy yard. A potential $500 fine was noted as the penalty for rule transgressions in that year’s regatta.

Duke to wed Mrs Inman in Europe wedding

Rock Island Frisco to Buy Central of Georgia Outlet

New York June 27 Specials The Rock Island Frisco interests may gain formal control of the Central of Georgia after two years as part of a sale to Oakleigh Thorne and Maraden J Ferry. The purchase gives the Frisco a southern outlet to the Atlantic seaboard via Birmingham and Savannah, with voting control retained for two years.
