Review of condition of the cotton crop

Memphis Tenn June 16 The Commercial Appeal tomorrow will publish a review of cotton crop conditions for the last week. Excessive rain fell in Georgia and the two Carolinas while rainfall elsewhere was beneficial to cotton and aided growth. Warm weather at week’s end followed unseasonably low east of the Mississippi River. The outlook was more hopeful and the week favorable. Local showers in Oklahoma and Arkansas aided the state crops and planted cotton is coming up though some fields have not sprouted. In Texas conditions are uniformly good though not as far developed as last year. Growth is rapid and cultivation excellent. Replanting is generally well advanced except in the Atlantic states where too much rain made some fields grassy. Generally good stands and growing vigor. Warmer, showery weather is needed in central and western states to stimulate growth.
