Dark delegates swear bribes were offered in Chicago

Three affidavits from Mississippi delegates allege Roosevelt forces paid bribes to secure Taft delegates. Rev James W Shumpert presiding elder and D W Sherred, both Mississippi, claim Charles Banks offered money to switch votes to Roosevelt. Buckley denied, stating he was offered 300 to 400 dollars.

Georgia Negro Delegates Favor Taft at National Caucus

Twenty six of Georgia's twenty eight delegates to the national convention, including all negroes, vote for Taft after a heated caucus. White delegates Clark Grier and J H Boone oppose instructions and back Roosevelt. Roosevelt Men Appeal to Taft in Mass Protest
