Desert Dust continues with a gambler’s tale and a hard choice
A distressed narrator recounts encounters in a boomtown involving Montoya the Monte, a femme fatale named Beeson, and a plan to join Jenk’s wagon train. He rejects a dangerous entanglement, accepts a rough yet hopeful offer from a bull-trainer, and meets Captain Adams’s frontier camp where breakfast awaits as the journey begins.
