Ardis Knight attempted liberty in a bold dash from custody in a courtroom vestibule. He struck by a heavy stick, injuring Officer Gleer, then fled before being recaptured and returned to trial. Knight faced multiple sentences, including 30 days for escape and 30 for theft, with a four month sentence implied.
Ligon Johnson of Mold & Arnold was injured yesterday on Marietta Street when a tram vehicle struck him as he crossed in the rain. He suffered bruises to both legs, was dazed briefly, and witnesses say the team did not stop. Johnson hopes to identify the driver.

Frankfort June 12 The Kentucky court of appeals upheld the 1904 act banning coeducation by race in the commonwealth schools. The Madison county case from Berea College finds the law constitutional and not violating the bill of rights or the fourteenth amendment. The decision requires white and negro schools to be 28 miles apart when conducted together and sends the case to the United States Supreme Court.
The Treasury Department informed the State Department that no cholera cases have been reported in Russia so far this year and recommended lifting certain restrictions on Russian immigrants at European embarkation points.
