Georgia Governor and Adjutant General refuse permission for the Third Infantry to encamp outside the state. The decision, reached after talks with Colonel A H DeVaughn and others, upholds a policy against out-of-state encampments, citing past incidents and the need for uniform application. The Third Regiment may only encamp within Georgia this year, with continued debate over the policy’s flexibility.

Stove Hearing On Reductions Set For June 16

The railroad commission holds a hearing today over stove rate reductions issued for Home, Dalton and Hockmart, aiming to standardize prices with Atlanta cuts. Cann, with no commission attendance planned. Attorney General Joby Hart will argue lack of jurisdiction to enjoin railroad orders, and the case proceeds to the Supreme Court.
