President Hardwick presided as officers were elected for the coming year, naming P. E. May as president and L. P. Hillyer as secretary among others. The gathering adjourned at 1:29 p.m. after a luncheon and presentations, with members and wives proceeding to Old Dominion Hotel for rest and recreation before returning home.
Police seek to prove Golden LB Dunton failed to open cylinder cocks on engine No. 28% to stop a wreck involving passenger train No. 9. Witnesses including Engineer Pulliam claim Dunton was on the engine and attempted to move it as disaster loomed. The recorder's court was to arraign him this morning after postponement for counsel.
