Prices range from 69c to 5c for the silks and lawn rates from 1c to 24c per yard depending on lot and quality. Purchase begins Monday with early prices for choice lots.
In a bustling sale, Shepherd checked dress goods offered at 39c with multiple color options. Also advertised are women and men hosiery items, belts, and other textiles with prices cut for a limited time, including 50c quantities and bulk discounts, while stocks last.
The Georgia ban on Sunday freight trains faces a likely appeal to the U S Supreme Court. The board of examiners of engineers adopted new rules prohibiting licensing of inexperienced workers as stationary engineers in Ful ton County. Pending ratification by county commissioners, the rules require applicants to prove good moral character and at least one year of experience. They also permit summarily suspending a license if the holder proves unworthy by drunkenness or lack of knowledge.
Commissioner Palmer told the board of examiners he would urge the county commissioners to adopt and ratify the es Tales to make them effective. The commissioners are practically certain to approve, with Judge Palmer suggesting three trials before allowing him to resume work.
The funeral of Arthur H Locke was held in Magnolia Cemetery Charleston with a train carrying the body stopping at the grave and a large gathering of friends in carriages. Captain William J Snow and Mrs O Hear left Saturday by the Southern United for Hackensack where they will spend the next weeks. After settling affairs in Hackensack Mrs Locke may go to Fort Riley for six weeks with her daughter.
Shrewd Atlanta buyers snapped up vast stock of Silk Mousseline last Monday driving prices down from 72c to 35c and finally to 15c per yard. The dealer reports several thousand yards remaining in a broad range of new spring shades and urges customers to hurry before stock runs out.
Tomorrow morning we sell limited lots of 36 inch linen for waists and shirtwaist suits at 25c yard, a grade normally 35c, plus a Glasgow Linen 36 inch for shirts and white skirts at 25c yard. Also Rogers triple plate knives and forks sets priced to close at 2.75, and 100 piece extra fine French china dinner sets offered at a special price of 25.00 per set with 250 dozen embossed china plates at 90c to 1.50 per dozen.
