Chief Engineer cites poor coal quality threatening waterworks

Chief Engineer Collier told the water board that the H R B Bowling Coal Company supplied coal failing the sample test, yielding only 63 000 000 foot pounds of fire pressure versus 88 000 080 expected. He warned inadequate steam and water pressure risk serious incidents. coal is slate filled and clogs pumps. The board ordered action and notified the company to stop shipments until remedy. A related note reports water usage rose by 18 000 090 gallons last month and water rent collections increased, with 188 customers cut off for non payment in January.

Prohibition Cases In City Court End In Bond For State Trials

Strauleiners 30 day serial and Oxburn charged with violating prohibition. Oxburn cleared of city charge but bound over to state court on $2000 bond. W. G. Steadter bound over to superior court on $6000 bond in water case and fined 80, with 22 days incarceration? A. C. Osburn cleared of keeping whisky on hand for sale but bound over to the superior court on state charge. Special from Valdosia Georgia February 8 The Robinson bicamy trial drew a packed chamber as jurors were chosen and evidence began. Henry Merrick of Boston testified he was best man at Robinsons marriage to Catherine Cornoway in Providence in 1631. Witnesses including Caffery of Lawrence Massachusetts and the first alleged Mrs Robinson identified the defendant as the husband of the two women. The boy identified as the child cried during testimony. The defense rested without revealing strategy. Robinson pleads not guilty to all indictments and the wives and letters from Rhode Island were admitted. The wife from Oklahoma City remains loyal as the trial continues with expected testimony from the first wife tomorrow.

Stolen Money Orders From Windkur Caused Savannah Cashing

Special report says a farmer named Hull of the Savannah division is sought for stealing a book of blank Southern Express money orders from the Windkur office in Chertin county Georgia. About 26 orders were cashed in Savannah and there was over 32040 in face value. The suspect skipped after the cashing spree and a search by Secret Service and Coast Line agents is underway. His brother S F Hull, Coast Line agent at Tudlowel, is also mentioned.
