Brookin Brown, charged with the murder of Columbus Boyer in Cobb county, Ga, escaped in 1902 and was found and arrested in Tyler Smith county Texas. Sheriff T B Hightower led a requisition from Hancock county to Texas for Brown. Allen was convicted and sentenced to life, later pardoned. Governor Candler offered reward for Brown's capture.
