Freedom Is Menaced by Giant Combines
U S Supreme Court hearing on the Northern Securities case resumed with Attorney General Knox arguing two intercity railroads, the Great Northern and Northern Pacific, were merging to monopolize transportation. Young for the securities company countered that the transfer of stock was a property matter, not interstate commerce, and urged uniform federal regulation.
