Delegations for convention loom large in Georgia politics
Cobb County will send an even hundred delegates to the state Democratic convention with Hooper Alexander set to nominate Hoke Smith for governor. The gathering at Auditorium Armory will be chaired by Thomas Lawson temporarily and W. Wright permanent chair. Fulton County will place forty to fifty delegates, led by Reuben Arnold and Louis Ghatatin among others. Delegates aim to back anti lobby measures, railroad regulation, foreign investment, and stricter ballot protections, with Paul S. Trammell urged for permanent chair by Whitfield County supporters. The primary vote analysis shows shifts since 1906 and 1908, with Hoke Smith and Joseph M Brown figures outlined.
