Five Die in Georgia Freight and Log Train Wreck
In Georgia near Albany at Pecan City engineer John C. Pope of Loutrie and four Negro laborers aboard a Corbett and Taylor log train were killed when a Georgia Northern freight collided with the log train in a siding. Two more workers were seriously injured and authorities investigated whether the switch was left open or defective. Pope’s body was found severed, leaving a bereaved family.

Runaway Horse Chased in Auto Endangers Cliff Edge Life
