Georgia Editors Battle in Atlanta Over City Printing Law
Georgia Weekly Press leaders gather in Atlanta to spar over a proposed senate bill shortening the required two years to two months for a newspaper to be the official county organ. The gathering, led by C. McAuliffe, Hal Stanley, and others, turns into a lively satire of editor rivalry as they march to the senate chamber and learn the measure is effectively dead, with the “pie” of city and county printing safe for now. The piece closes noting Decatur hosts next year and St Paul reports grass rug investments.
