British steamship Midland Queen sunk near Europe
Queenstown August 6 The British steamship Midland Queen, sailing from Sydney to Glasgow, was sunk by torpedo likely from a German submarine. Twenty two crew members survived after seventy two hours in lifeboats along with the chief officer's wife and child. Built 1901 at Dundee, 1933 tons, owned by Midland Navigation Company of Midland Ontario.

Auto Crash Injures Three in Buckhead Drive

Aza Orrottie aged 9, son of FE O'Jottie, a Stone Mountain stonecutter, was killed yesterday afternoon when an accidentally discharged shotgun in a store near the mountain foot fired into his face. Chief J W Beauchamp said the boy did not know the gun was loaded. the incident happened near the stone shed where his father worked. The family is among Stone Mountain's Italian stonecutters.
