Bilbo and Russell Win in Mississippi
Jackson Mississippi August 6 Belatea returns revered today on they vote cast in Tuesdays demaciquie purpary in Mississippi for aspirants for the lieutenant governorship upset earlier predictions and indicated that Lee Russell had been nominated for that office over Jo Gungan Carter by a substantial majority. At Russell headquarters it was claimed that complete returns from all counties in the state gave him a lead of about 31000 votes. Carter's friends have not conceded his defeat. There was much delay in reporting the vote on lieutenant governor and early returns indicated Carter's nomination. On the face of returns from all counties Theodore Bilbo was nominated for governor by a majority over the four other contestants of less than 2000. Friends of Mr Betly who ran second to Bilbo are making charges of irregular count and irregularities in Pontotoc and several other counties which gave Bilbo majorities. They will demand a recount of the votes in these counties when the executive committee meets here near Monday.
