Agents, a Smith College graduate, a Radcliffe alumna, and a former government employee, posed as procuring agents for disorderly houses in Seattle and Alaska to gain trust and secure the captures. Further sensational developments are hinted at by Whitman.
Seattle reports detail a February incident where cannibals harmed two Presbyterian missionaries, Rev. Horatio Hopkins and Rev. Hector Laurice McPherson, aboard the barkentine Mary Kinkelman. They were arriving to Kuilltep Waab from the Tonga Islands in the South Pacific.
London April 39 The budget which has stirred politics for the past year received royal assent this morning becoming law on its introduction anniversary. The House of Lords and Commons met in formal sessions with few members present to hear the assent. Both houses adjourned until May 26.
At an Evening Session of the Georgia Teachers and Industrial College event in Milledgeville speakers included Joyner of North Carolina Miss Mildred Rutherford and M M Parks of Georgia. Joyner urged high standards for teachers and warned against easy paths for pupils while Rutherford spoke on the patronage of girls and the duties of educators.
