Mrs Rowe Denies Divorce in Rowe Death Case
The second or possibly third Mrs. Rowe said on Thursday she never divorced from her late husband and had no interest in him, regretting his death. She claimed their acquaintance began a year before marriage, with visits and courtship after he canvassed for tugs, unaware of his drinking problems. Probation Officer Cuogler identified the body as J. M. Howe, a visitor to the Christian Helpers league, and noted Rowe sought a bed there. Funeral services were held at Done sheo's chapel with five grown sons present at Greenwood cemetery. Rev. Charles W. Jowe said he no longer suspects murder or elevator shaft disposal.
