Breakout attempt by Bohannon and three others foiled in Dalton jail

Bohannon and accomplices cut seven bars with a small steel saw in a jail cage. Rain aided their noisy efforts as they planned to reach the brick wall with three more bars to cut. The plan collapsed when Sam Painter, pulled from a crack behind the cage, revealed the saw and Bohannon faced a stiff reprimand from Jailer Tankersly.

Maysville Fire Destroys Block of Business Buildings

A major fire in Maysville last night destroyed the entire block of business buildings including Yeargin & Son furniture, Harden's drug store, White & Co, and other stores. Loss estimated at 20000 dollars with little insurance. Citizens’ quick actions saved the railroad depot, preserving town commerce.

Grand Jury Adjourns Plans for County Changes

Peculiar Tragedy in Newnan Ends With Death

In Newnan Georgia on October 21 Garr Linson was found dead from a shot to the temple after a confrontation with Pinson. Luther Fuller, a companion, says Pinson shot at him first then fired again killing Linson. Fuller was injured and Pinson died later. Sheriff Brown placed Fuller under arrest for examination as families call for a full investigation.
