Albany chosen as meeting place for Georgia mayors

The Georgia Mayors Association held an afternoon session at Albany selecting officers for the coming year. J A Sims of Richland was named president, with H V Colvard of Dalton and John W Maddox of Rome among the vice presidents, and Bridges Smith of Macon elected secretary and treasurer for life. Albany won the bid to host the next convention by a clear margin. The body also passed resolutions on enforcing anti trust-like practices in the southeastern tariff association and investigating fire insurance market competition, and extended thanks to Athens hosts. An address by T W Hardwick and remarks on municipal courts followed. A later note praises the quality of hospitality received in Athens.
