The Hart County case involving a deputy collector H L Richardson and Powerman J A Dickinson concluded before Judge Kineebrew. Evans was discharged on evidence. Andy Evans and Bart Soow remained held on bonds of 200 each for distill and 300 for shooting. The two men failed to post bonds and were sent to Atlanta for trial before Judge Newman. Deputy Marshal Thomas led the prisoners from Am nty. The case drew many onlookers.

Baseball in Athens Plans for Four Local Teams Meet at City Hall
A meeting is set at City Hall this afternoon at six o'clock to organize Athens baseball for the summer. The plan calls for four teams from local businesses and shops with two paid players each, plus objective games against teams from other North Georgia cities. The Athens club, fresh after beating Winder, has accepted a challenge from Decatur for a University campus game next Wednesday, anticipated as a standout contest of the season.

Lightning strikes Athens killing workers at race track
A severe thunderstorm in Athens caused three men to die instantly on the new race track. The bolt also struck Prof. Alexander Rhodes's Cobb Street home causing chimney damage and leaving Mrs. Rhodes badly shocked, though the house sustained only minor damage.
