Atlanta reports that State Librarian C J Wellborn announces the first two volumes of the colonial records of Georgia are printed and for sale at $1.50 per volume through the state library. The volumes cover the trustees journals, laws, bylaws, and early government proceedings from 1732 to 1752 and related journals. The notice also outlines upcoming volumes and contents, with future records planned in chronological order. Senator Cockrell will not be the Missouri senator next year but has secured a favorable position thanks to the Republican president.

Joe Lewis alias Pig Payne, a colored inmate, has deteriorated to acute mania. He was quiet at first, refused food, and would not talk. He now believes others beat him and threatened to kill everyone in the jail, prompting separation. If mania continues, his trial in superior court may be affected.
