Prisoners Shot Down By An Insatiate Mob
In Watkinsville Georgia a mob seized nine inmates from the Oconee county jail late Tuesday night and hanged them to fence posts. The victims include seven colored men and two whites, led by Lon J Aycock the white man charged in the Holbrook murder. The mob shot the others multiple times, leaving one negro barely alive. The act followed the Sandy Price assault on Mrs Dooley and sparked shock and condemnation across the county. Coroner's inquest pending. authorities vow further investigation.
