The funeral of Mrs. E A Watson was held at the Winterville Baptist Church at ten o'clock yesterday. Rev. Wm Colle led services from 1 Corinthians 10, praising a life devoted to Christ. Mrs Watson joined Antioch Baptist at nineteen and remained sixty one years. She married M Watson of Marion, Ohio fifty one years ago. Remains were laid to rest in Winterville cemetery. Dr Alonzo Monk of Atlanta will lead a Y M C A meeting at 4 50 this afternoon offering guidance to young men.
In a perfect landslide Hon Joseph M Terrell sweeps the state from mountains to the sea with big wins for Merritt. Hardwick defeats Fleming in the Tenth as Terrell appears poised to secure enough votes for the convention. Bonds win in Clarke County.
Reports through two this morning show Horn Joseph M. Terrell sweeping South Georgia counties and securing over 176 votes with more counties to tally. Estimated second place to be contested by Estill and Guerry as results trickle in from North Georgia counties.

Coal regions report ongoing violence against workers as authorities increase patrols. The Wyoming Valley remains quiet as tensions ease temporarily.
Captain McCalloch died overnight in his room at 12:80, surrounded by his son, daughter, and friends. He was a well known figure in Athens with many enduring friendships, and his passing was unexpectedly sudden. The Banner Office received notice this morning at 1 o clock.
The Cobb-Delany Camp of Confederate Veterans will hold its regular monthly meeting at City Hall next Saturday June 6 at 11 o'clock. The session will discuss adopting a regulation uniform for all meetings and public occasions. The call urges veterans to attend for this important discussion.
Clarke county backed Joseph M. Terrell by 164 votes in yesterday’s gubernatorial contest, with Estill trailing by 164 and Guerry by 104 countywide. Terrell led in country districts by 45 votes, Merritt Glenn and Stevens among county officers saw clear leads, and Clarke cast over 1400 votes for bonds, surpassing the required 1240.
