Drowning of Tallulah Falls Traveler Mangum
Mr. T. D. Mangum of Athens drowned near Hawthorne's pool at Tallulah Falls while crossing rocks above Indian Arrow rapids. He was a traveling agent with Eppes Wilkins Co and leaves a wife and six children. Mangum was active in Masonry Shriner Knights of Pythias Elks and local fraternal life.

Atlanta July 25 The general agricultural committee reported favorably Mr Price of Ocenee bill to remove the experiment station from Griffin to Athens and backed Mr Martins measure raising fertilizery tax to 25 cents per ton. The tax funds agricultural education with $10,000 for each district high school and $50,000 for the state college. The University of Georgia committee moved to study land transfers in Thomasville and urge trustees to report next session. The committee on constitutional amendments favored a bill to standardize county creation movements.

Yesterday afternoon at 1 30 the funeral of Grace Devereaux was held at Prof and Mrs 8 V Sanford residence on Milledge avenue. Scores of sympathizers attended and floral tributes filled the room. The choir included Megers C M Strahan W D Hooper Mrs J W Barnett and Mrs J M Hodgson singing Safe in the Arms of Jesus and Sweet Story of Old. Services were conducted by Rev Troy Beatty with Rev L G Johnson assisting. Interment followed in Marietta.
