Capt J J Slade from Muscogee the oldest house member was seriously hurt when his car struck him on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. He suffered a crushed foot and bruises but was resting easily at the Aragon hotel. Police arrested the driver, a Black chauffeur, though Slade said the fault was not his.
