Death of Officer B O W Rose Ends Long Police Service
Oliver B O W Rose died at his home after a long illness. A Georgia native who served with the 16th Georgia in the Civil War, he later joined the Athens police in 1872, serving forty years with fidelity. He was a Baptist, Mason, and Red Man, survived by wife Georgia and four children. The funeral at city hall included police pallbearers and burial at Oconee cemetery.

Forgery Suspect Absent After Broad Street Scam

Atlanta July 4 special says a $10,000 appropriation bill to establish a cotton seed oil refinery at the Georgia School of Technology gains support. Goode Price Resigns From Secretary of State Post
Atlanta July 40 Special Goode Price, the well known assistant to Secretary of State Phil Cook, has tendered his resignation to take effect this Saturday. Price will become cashier of the First National Bank of Tallapoosa, a bank organized largely by his brother Rowe Price, with whom he had succeeded in the state office. Cook regrets the departure and has not decided on a replacement.
