University of Georgia Summer School officials prepare to select and sign contracts with educators from Georgia and other states. Expected attendance surpasses 800 with preparations for accommodations and reduced railroad rates under consideration.
The February number of the Georgian is issued as the university monthly. Editors include John K ch Preston Brooks Salmagnodi Hooley Abbott and Robert Moran. Over eighteen thousand University Summer School announcements go to teachers in Georgia Alabama and Mississippi as preparations for July turnout accelerate. The Athens Ice and Coal Co sends Mayor Rhodes a letter requesting the city council adopt weighment rules for coal. The firm notes buyers may send wagons to be weighed by officials, citing practice in other cities to ease public doubt and ensure accuracy. The letter is dated February 19, 1908.
