Major Curry Dies In Auto Crash At Washington Street Viaduct
Major Manley B. Curry paymaster of the department of the gulf and son in law of United States Senator A O Bacon was hurled from a car at the Washington street viaduct and fell twenty feet to Belgian blocks. He died at Grady hospital about thirty minutes later. Dr William Carnes drove the car and suffered bruises. Mrs Curry was taken to the family home on Fifth street. Senator Bacon’s son in law’s death follows his prominent Georgia and Confederate service career.
