Lollie Aimith Named Representative For University Commencement

A contest at the State Normal School elected Miss Lollie Aimith of Woodville Georgia to speak at the University commencement next June. Four young women and two young men competed, with Miss Aimith daughter of Greene County School Commissioner Smith and a leading senior with notable forensic ability. The Normal School trustees must decide on her eligibility to speak on the University stage, a first for the school.

Mistrial Ordered in Duncan Case in Atlanta Court

Judge John S. Candler ordered a mistrial in the Mollie B. Duncan murder case after the defendant fainted and cried aloud in the courtroom while the jury was in session. The judge cited disorder in the presence of the jury and dismissed the panel, with Duncan returned to jail and her defense team objecting.
