The eastbound Cannonball train No. 6 on the St. Louis and Frisco railroad was held up three miles east of Lzpanon at 1:05 a.m. Three masked robbers boarded at 12:50 a.m., dynamited the express car, and seized the safe contents and valuable papers. The engineer and fireman were not harmed, the express car was abandoned at Sleeper, and a posse led by Sheriff Jones pursued the suspects.
